This Week's Sermon Information:
Sermon: Trusting His Voice
Text: Exodus 17:2–6, Numbers 20:2–13 (NLT)
Key Verse: Numbers 20:12 - But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!”
Sermon Snapshot: This moment seems so similar to a previous event some 40 years earlier. Desert. Water. Complaining people. Yahweh’s miraculous provision for His people through Moses. I can just hear Moses thinking “Here we are again. I remember what to do in a situation like this.” But what we once DID in a setting, may not be what the LORD wants us to DO in a new one. Trust is not a matter of learning and applying principles. Its about listening to His Voice in this time and place, and then trusting enough to follow and obey.

This week at Watershed:
Losing Our Cool
Numbers 20:1-13
Moses was a great leader and God used him in one of the most pivotal moments of Israel’s life and in the history of Christianity as a whole. While he was a great leader and committed to God, he also made mistakes. We see one of these moments in this week’s story, and through it continue to see the faithfulness of God shown to him and the people of Israel.

Celebration Afterthought
Opening our hearts to "the Voice of the LORD."
How do I know if it is really God that I'm hearing? And not just my desires?
What if I get it wrong? And hurt someone?
Is all this still for our day & time?

Careless Anger
Numbers 20: 1-13
This week we continue our Lenten sermon series titled, "Fragile Faith; Faithful God." It is a journey through the scriptures considering the brokenness of God's covenant people and the faithfulness of God as we fix our eyes on the cross of Jesus. This morning, we will consider the life of Moses, who led the people out of slavery in Egypt. We will explore this moment of failure when Moses disobeys God's command in striking the Rock at Rephidim with his staff - a moment that led to Moses not being allowed to enter the Promised Land. What led to Moses' act of disobedience? Did the punishment fit the crime? How did God remain faithful through it all? And how does Jesus fit into all this? Join us as we explore these questions and more this Sunday.

This week at Fusion:
Wrestle with God
Genesis 32: 22-32
This week we continue our Lenten sermon series, "Fragile Faith; Faithful God." We will journey through the scriptures considering the brokenness of God's covenant people and the faithfulness of God as we fix our eyes on the cross of Jesus. This morning, we will consider the life of Jacob the heel grabber whose name would be changed to Israel after an all-night wrestling match with God. We will explore how God remained faithful through Jacob's life of wrestling, scheming, and maneuvering through life and then ponder if, just maybe, Jesus has a better way...

Always Wrestling
Genesis 32-33
Jacob, the “heel-grabber”, always had a knack for scheming, strategizing, and wrestling with the people in his life, and he often ended up coming out “on top.” He always seemed to be trying to attain a blessing, instead of receiving it. In this week’s story, we will explore a watershed moment in his life that will perfectly encapsulate his fragile faith but also point us to the faithfulness of God.

Sermon: Dealing with God, Trusting The LORD
Text: Genesis 25-37
Key Verse: Genesis 28:20-21 - Then Jacob made this vow: "IF God will indeed be with me and protect me on this journey . . . THEN The LORD will certainly be my God."
Sermon Snapshot: Yahweh gives Jacob a promise, but Jacob "The Schemer" responds by trying to negotiate a deal. Living by "IF, THEN" is a different journey - and far more difficult and lonely - than living by "BECAUSE, THEN" as we Journey With Jesus.

Favoritism's Folly
Genesis 25: 21-28
This week we continue a new sermon series titled, "Fragile Faith; Faithful God." During this season of Lent, we will journey through the scriptures considering the brokenness of God's people and the faithfulness of God as we fix our eyes on the cross of Jesus. This morning, we will consider Isaac and Rebekah's mistake in picking favorites between their twin boys, Isaac and Esau. We will explore the folly of favoritism and the destructive path it leaves behind and how it runs counter to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This week at Watershed:
My Favorite…
Genesis 25:21-28
We all have our favorites…teams, food, movies, music, etc. The danger is when we begin to play favorites with people, or our favorite things begin skewing how we think and act towards others. This week we’ll see the impact of this favoritism in the lives of Isaac and Rebekah, and we’ll be reminded of the good news that God doesn’t play favorites.

Communion Sunday
We do not come to this supper claiming any merit in ourselves. On the contrary, we come testifying that we seek our salvation apart from ourselves and instead, in Jesus Christ. Form for the Celebration of the Lord's Supper II (1964)
This Week's Sermon Information:
Repeat Favorites Sermon
Genesis 25:27-28
The story of Isaac is a story of echoes. Echoes of Cain and Abel. Echoes of some of his father Abraham’s worst decisions. And Isaac is perhaps most famous for the choices he makes that will reverberate for generations to come: his blessing of his younger son Jacob over his older brother Esau. Yet, despite the fragility of Isaac’s faith and the brokenness within his family, his life harmonizes with the song of the Gospel: the first are last and the last shall be first in the Kingdom of God.

Laughing at God
Genesis 18: 1-15
This week we begin a new sermon series titled, "Fragile Faith; Faithful God." During this season of Lent, we will journey through the scriptures considering the brokenness of God's people and the faithfulness of God as we fix our eyes on the cross of Jesus. This morning we will consider Sarah who receives this audacious promise from God - one so unbelievable she cannot help but laugh to herself. Have you ever found yourself in a similar place - the promises of God just seem too grand, too unbelievable? Join us as we explore this story and how it connects with our own lived experiences.

That’s Funny
Genesis 17-18:15
As we start our new Spring series, we are exploring the lives of people in the Bible, we tend to think of as superheroes of the faith, and yet come to find that they are often just like us with a fragile faith. The good news is that they and we have a faithful God. This week we will be looking at how both Abraham and Sarah laugh at God’s promise of a son only to have their laughter transformed.

Sermon: It's Okay to Laugh With Wonder
Text: Genesis 17:1–23
Key Verse: Genesis 17:17 - Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”
Sermon Snapshot: Sometimes the distance between the LORD's good promise and our circumstances can make us laugh with amazement! Fortunately, the LORD's good promises depend on Him, to be received by us and not earned, understood or manifested.

Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. An Ash Wednesday service seeks to remind Christians that we were formed from dust and to dust our bodies will return – to remind us that we are spiritually, emotionally, morally, intellectually, and relationally fragile beings. Ashes, which symbolize death and repentance, are placed on the worshiper's foreheads in the form of the cross with the officiate saying, Remember that thou art dust, and to dust, you shall return.
Join us in the Sanctuary as we mark the beginning of the season of Lent following a light soup supper.
If you are unable to come in person, view the Livestream on our Celebration YouTube Channel.

What’s In A Name? And About Those “Wonders”
Exodus 34:5-14
The LORD – Yahweh by name – makes a promise to Moses, and through Moses to each of us. Unfortunately, we can never understand or experience those promises if we attempt to fit them into a universe with us at the center. Simply put, the promises of God can never come to pass in a universe centered on me. But as we see Moses grow in a deepening relationship with Yahweh, we see that life lived with Yahweh at the center is human lives flourishing with supernatural grace, promises, meaning and impact.
