Calvin January Series – Rachael Denhollander

A Time to Speak: Addressing Justice and Forgiveness

Tuesday, January 22, 12:30 – 1:30

Local Simulcast: Christ Memorial Church

595 Graafschap Rd

Holland, MI 49423
(616) 796-3370

Rachel Denhollander was the first woman to file a police report of sexual abuse by Dr. Larry Nasser.  She now brings her experience, seminary training and lawyer credentials to addressing justice and forgiveness.  Rachael has clearly and graciously challenged Christian institutions to live more faithfully as communities resistant to abuse and safe for survivors.

We encourage everyone to participate in the simulcast at Christ Memorial Church on Tuesday, Jan 22, and then come join an open time of discussion and reflection on Wednesday, Jan 23 as part of Harderwyk Community Night.  That session will be moderated by Pastor Bill.

Read an interview with Rachael by Christianity Today in which she  shared more details about her break with her church community, how poor theology causes many churches to poorly care for sex abuse victims, how she found God’s perspective on sexual abuse in Scripture, and about her convictions that forgiveness and justice are both biblical and must go hand in hand.
