First Sunday Here?  here is What to Expect

You can be yourself at Harderwyk. You’ll find belonging and community just as you are. You’ll also be transformed here! As you grow in your faith, you can expect to be changed! Want more joy in your life? Peace? Patience? Kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? Come discover the Good News that will truly change your life.

What’s your worship style? We offer three distinct Worshiping Communities: Celebration, Fusion, and Watershed. That means whether you prefer to worship with hymns or modern worship, with liturgy or in a casual atmosphere, there is a place for you here. We celebrate and respect each person’s unique expression of worship! Every one of our communities places a high value on powerful biblical preaching, so no matter where you find yourself on a Sunday morning, you’ll hear the life-giving message of Jesus Christ. Follow the links above to learn more about each community.

You’ll find many opportunities for spiritual growth beyond Sunday morning: from classes and Bible studies, to retreats and community events, to volunteering and mission opportunities: we have something for everyone!

Together we can make a difference. The gospel transforms not only our lives but also the world! We believe God can use the local church to change the world. Harderwyk Ministries joyfully partners with Neighbors Plus, our community development organization, to build a better Holland and Zeeland. We also partner with many local and international organizations to share the love of Christ by word and in deed in the Lakeshore area and beyond.

Come find a spiritual home with us!

Harderwyk is made up of 3 unique worshiping communities.  They are all unique in their own style but share one mission under Harderwyk Ministries.

Harderwyk Mission Statement:

Reaching the Lakeshore and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by forming disciples and equipping leaders.

Celebration Sunday Worship Service

The Celebration community meets in the Sanctuary in the red brick building on Sunday at 9:00 am.  This is a very classical kind of worship service with a pipe organ and hymns.  On several occasions through out the year you can enjoy choir, bell choir, brass and string instruments.  Dress is anywhere from suit coat and tie to dress casual.  Celebration is a very welcoming community, you can expect to be greeted by other members.  Within Celebration there are opportunities to support other Harderwyk missions and programs through donations and volunteering.  The service starts out with weekly announcements, followed by a couple hymns.  An offering plate is passed and then the Pastor will preach from the Bible.  We close the service with some hymns and gathering over coffee and donuts.  Nursery is available during the entire worship service and children ages preschool through 5th grade will be dismissed to their Sunday School classes during the service.

Fusion Sunday Worship Service

The Fusion community meets on Sunday mornings in the Great Room in the red brick building at 10:30 am.  This is a more contemporary style of worship with a band including drums and electric guitars.  On a Sunday you may hear a traditional hymn or contemporary music.  Dress is anywhere from dress casual to casual.  Before and during the Fusion service there are coffee and donuts available, feel free to help yourself.  During the service there is an offering plate passed followed by Biblical preaching and ending with worship songs and community gathering over coffee and donuts.  Fusion offers folks many opportunities to get involved in the many ministries available at Harderwyk.  Nursery is available during the entire service and children ages preschool through 5th grade will be dismissed to their Sunday School classes during the service.

Watershed Sunday Worship Service

The Watershed community meets on Sunday mornings in the Anchor gym at 9:00 am & 10:30 am.  Our Watershed service is for those who have given up on church but have not given up on God.  This is a come how you are kind of service.  You can expect to hear energetic worshiping with a band including drums and electric guitars.  Dress is come as you are, anything goes.  During the service you can expect to sing several worship songs and hear passionate preaching by the pastor.  An offering plate is not passed during the service, but there are offering collection boxes at the entrances to the gym where the service is held.  There are coffee and donuts available before and during the worship service.

Our services last about an hour, and are not age-distinct. Although some churches choose to have age-specific services, we choose not to in order to keep experiences the same for everyone. We have all ages attending all of our Sunday morning services, so no matter what your preferences are, you're welcome to attend!
